持而盈之，

Fill the bowl to the brim, it will spill. |

不如其已；
|
Better to stop in time. |
|
揣而锐之，
|
Sharpen the blade too much, it will dull. |
|
不可长保。
|
Continuous sharpness cannot be maintained. |
|
金玉满堂，
|
Amass treasures, no one can keep them safe. |
|
莫之能守；
|
Wealth and pride invite disaster. |
|
富贵而骄，
|
When success is achieved, withdraw quietly. |
|
自遗其咎。
|
This is the natural way of Dao. |
